March 15th Potsdam peace rally marks 5th anniversary of Iraq War

It has been more than 5 years since Alternatives to War and Veterans for
Peace (VFP) joined in a weekly vigil in front of the Potsdam Post Office.
"The commitment to this vigil is outstanding," said Robin McClellan, an
associate VFP member. "There hasn't been a Saturday since it started
that there weren't some dedicated people standing for their conviction
about an unnecessary and unjust war. VFP member Ruth Beebe, at age
86 and in all weather, was standing weekly until her passing at
Thanksgiving."

"When this vigil began our voice was small but important." Remembered
Ed Clark of North Country VFP. "Five years later, the great majority of
Americans now agree with our position and are shouting for change."
