In 2008, at an unprecedented conference of veterans and active-duty soldiers called Winter Soldier, four days of heartbreaking testimony revealed why many veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars had concluded that their mission was unjust. Bestor Cram has produced regularly for PBS over the past 15 years. His recent credits include Long Distance Warrior, Scarred Justice: The Orangeburg Massacre, Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison, and The Special: An American Anthem. David Zeiger first appeared on PBS with his personal documentary, The Band, which aired on P.O.V. in 1997. Based on the success of that program, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting funded his landmark program, Senior Year, a thirteen-part series that followed fifteen students during the 1999/2000 school year at Fairfax High, the most diverse school in Los Angeles.
